It is used as a catalyst for the condensation of phenolic resins and a desiccant in the production of dyes and intermediates. In the printing industry, it is used to prepare cleaning solutions for wiping off stains on offset color printing plates. It is also used to prepare matchstick impregnating solutions. In the metallurgical industry, it is used to produce phosphate refractory mortar to improve the service life of steelmaking furnaces. It is a coagulant for rubber paste and a raw material for the production of inorganic adhesives. In the coating industry, it is used as a metal antirust paint.
